Black Lives Matter: How American athletes are bringing racism to its knees!

In support of Jacob Blake, an African-American father seriously injured during an arrest by the police on August 23, part of American sports has started an unprecedented strike movement in the history of the country. A mobilization that is reminiscent of other historic positions taken by professional athletes. Explanations.“We are the ones getting shot. AN UNPRECEDENTED SOLIDARITY 

It all started with the Milwaukee Bucks basketball team. When they should have faced the Orlando Magic in a crucial match, the players decided at the last moment to stay in the locker room to protest against police violence against blacks. “Over the past few days in our state of Wisconsin, we have seen the terrible video of Jacob Blake and the additional shooting of protesters. Despite the overwhelming plea for change, there is no action, so we cannot focus on basketball today.  

Their gesture was quickly followed by other teams. According to several media, on Wednesday evening, the two Los Angeles teams, the Lakers and the Clippers, voted purely and simply for the definitive end of the NBA season, the American basketball championship.
